Robsart

Overview

This region of southwestern Saskatchewan is Rival’s largest natural gas property. As can be seen on the accompanying map, Rival (50 percent) has a significant presence in this area. The Company also has access to over 1,200 kilometres of 2-D seismic covering the majority of the lands. Rival was initially attracted to the area due to the low development cost and lower-risk potential for additional natural gas production and reserves.

Geology

The Robsart property is well situated in a shallow natural gas fairway. The main productive horizons in the area are the Belly River and Bearpaw, which are complemented by potential production from Madison, Shaunavon, Second White Specks and Milk River formations. The latter two formations have been driving considerable land sale activity in the region the last two years. Companies have invested over $20 million for land in the region since the time of our acquisition at prices that are an average of ten times what Rival paid.
